PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS
My videos are part of an ongoing series entitled "Arrangements" where inanimate objects become animated in a playful arrangement
of color, sound, space and time. "Tiger Tails" (2min 40 sec) has a repetition of sound that sets a humorous tone while suggesting
more serious questions of captivity and extinction.
"Orbit" (3min 40 sec.) is an irreverent comment on the future and purpose of manned space travel. The piece is a whimsical
installation, shot on video, that demonstrates the physics of propulsion, energy, rotation, and inertia--which in this case
are all dependent on a simple wall plug as a source of power. The hair dryer, an article of vanity, acts as a jet engine causing
the installation to rotate. After spinning numerous times, the piece becomes entangled in itself, thus, shutting itself off,
allowing it to free spin as a pendulum. The sound of an ambulance is heard in the background suggesting impending disaster.
"Waterline" (spare)2004 (2min 55sec ) is my latest video an outdoor installation piece comprising lines of color interrupted
suddenly by one decisive gesture.
